This photo was taken just a few days after purchasing my Canon 7D back in 2012. I had forgotten about the shot until I found it while rummaging through old photos on a backup hard drive. We see lots of great sunsets here but scenes like this appear here once in a blue moon. I was super lucky to be in position with camera in hand when this massive thunderhead turned it’s back to the setting sun one stormy, fall afternoon in the MS Delta.
The contrast between fury and beauty inherent in these giants makes one realize they are always best viewed from the back and from a respectful distance.
