Kestrel

The kestrel shown in these treetop pics has been hanging around the conservation area for a couple of months now.  Only recently has he/she let me get close enough to photograph even though the bird has seen me about 4 or 5 times a week during that period.  The duck (first Gadwall sighting this year) pic was good but it seems that I am only able to catch them flying away at high speeds.  These examples demonstrate just how difficult photographing birds while walking can be – especially with dogs.  Claudia had to put them back in the truck so I could have any chance of getting the shots.  Hopefully, with more practice, these bird pics will begin to get easier to get.
