Wetland flowers in Springtime Mississippi Delta

I took a series of photographs of some (don’t know the name) flowers that carpet the forest floor in the woods behind our house each spring.   This area is under water most of the winter.  Each spring as the water seeps down to expose the forest soils, these flowers shoot up on about 20 acres of wetlands.   The plants are about 4 feet tall and grow well in the still wet, spongy, spring conditions.  The picture cannot begin to give you a sense of the real beauty of this annual flower show.
